Review of 2015

Our year...

Can't believe we're already in December...where has this year gone?  Here's a quick run down of what we've been up to in 2015:

Bri is still working at Fujitsu and has mainly been involved in updating Costa Coffee's technical systems.  It's been very challenging at times but at least he's had a few free coffees!  He's still a school governor and enjoys running most Sunday mornings with the 'Hash House Harriers', a local running group.

Fee is still teaching 2 days a week in 2 different schools (French and music), and continues to run her own 'Funky French' business, offering French classes to little ones.  She's been busy organising PTFA events for Adam's school and is still playing canoe polo for Letchworth. (Her hip is pretty much pain free now, which is great...just a few clicks and the odd ache if she walks too far!)

Lucy is now in year 6 and working hard.  She continues to love her drama and is currently getting ready for her school Christmas pantomime of 'Treasure island'.  Last week she and some friends came 2nd in their drama school talent show, so she was over the moon.  She has also done cheer-leading and netball and has joined Guides, which she seems to enjoy.

Adam is in year 4, his last year at lower school and is enjoying being one of the big kids for a change. This year he joined the cricket club and thoroughly enjoyed the Friday night training sessions - as did his parents (sunny evenings watching cricket with a pre-dinner glass of wine/pint of beer became the norm for most of the summer!) He also enjoys cubs and has had loads of fun on various camps (including one for dads and cubs, and one for mums and cubs).

The highlight of our year was undoubtedly our cruise around the Mediterranean Sea at the end of the summer holidays.
Having missed out on a holiday last year, due to Fee's hip operation, we thought we'd treat ourselves this year, and it was a fantastic holiday!  The kids loved the numerous towel art animals made by our cabin steward, the kids club, the water park and the                                                         unlimited ice-cream machines! Bri and Fee enjoyed the evening theatre shows, the cocktails, sunshine, gorgeous places we visited (especially Rome, Corsica  and Sorrento) and not having to cook or wash up for the whole week :)

We've also had an addition to the family this year: This gorgeous kitty is called Treacle and she has definitely made herself at home...helping with marking, chewing the carpets, scratching the sofas and lately, destroying the Christmas tree! She was very shy at first but is now a lovely, affectionate lap-cat (when she wants to be of course!)

Other highlights this year have been celebrating Fee's Mum's 70th birthday, Bri's 50th birthday, a weekend at Center Parcs, trips to London to see Les Mis and watch Bri run the Bupa 10k with a new sub 50 minute P.B, day trip to Cadbury's World, where we all ate far too much chocolate, a weekend catching up with Fee's Aunt Jenny and a trip up north/to Scotland to visit Fee's Auntie Isobel and some other good friends. In Scotland Fee celebrated a year since having her op by climbing a big hill (or according to Lucy, 'a huge mountain'!)  Hopefully this will be the start of many more to come.

Anyway, we hope you have all had a good year and we'd like to wish you all a very Happy Christmas and New Year, wherever you may be.  Lots of love from us all. xxx
